Two very small things that get me excited..
Today was a day where I realised that at this point in my life, it doesn't take much to get me excited.
A large part of my is watching what I eat. I try keep to a low FODMAP diet as it can relieve some of my endo symptoms. IBS commonly sits next to endo, which means maintaining an easy digestible diet is super important. However, this is not always easy. There is a very large list of high fodmap foods so actually sticking to it can be discouraging as finding types of food that fit within the guidelines...
Until I was sent a facebook post from a fellow endo friend
The bread toasted in regular time, which is good as I've struggled waiting for specialty breads to toast before; first world problems, I know!
It was good! It wasn't super dry, and tasted like regular bread! Also, writing this an hour later, I feel fine! No food baby from bread bloat! As I said earlier, when you don't has a fairly normal lifestyle, getting excited over not being bloated after eating not one but TWO slices of bread is awesome! Paired with a good cup of herbal tea, this loaf was a win for me.
This morning Leo, Isa and I headed out to the forrest for a "walk." When I say "walk," I mean being dragged 6km by a fluffy husky. I know, I'm meant to be easing back into the exercise, but I tend to not do things in small amounts. I also cannot resist hanging out with my husky friends and actually getting out of the house! The walk went great. The dogs had a great time. Isa tried out her new pink harness and only got her grumpy face out once; she's not a fan of other dogs.. The whole walk I felt reasonably ok, which is good for me! My pain was there but I managed to power through it. Having my fluffy friend, Odin was a good excuse to keep on keeping on.
As we got back to the cars, and buckled up the weather suddenly changed from sunshine to storm. That's also when the pain started to kick back in. Not only pelvic pain, but very sore leg muscles as well!
Baths for me are the most effective relief for anything. Having a bad day? Have a bath! Feeling sick? Have a bath! Feel like your ovaries are being stabbed while a chainsaw is being driven through your uterus, plus feeling like your legs are about to fall off? Have a bath!
The trick to having the best bathing experience is to use a bath bomb. I have a unhealthy obsession with Lush. They have the most amazing bath bombs, that both smell great and look stunning in the tub. If you have tried them before you will agree with me when I say they have the "wow factor."
Anyway, as I was picking up my bread, I made a sneaky trip into lush an picked up a few bath bombs. I tried to be adventurous as I usually choose the same ones every time.
Overall today wasn't horrible. I did spend 90% of it in bed but I did get out of the house too! When you don't have much else going on in your life you learn to cherish the small things,
