living life yellow.
the ramblings of a 21 year old
It's been a while since I've actually written a personal blog. A lot has been happening/not happening recently so I thought I would fill you all in on whats been going on.
Leo and I had a trip away to Hokitika last week for a couple of nights. It was my first time going over to the West Coast so it was exciting for me. I also love planning holidays so it was awesome for me to have something to look forward too. We booked an Air b&b which was a "Ruru Hut." It was a gorgeous little shack, in the middle of nowhere (no wifi or cell reception) which has everything you could ever want. We were left bacon and eggs to make breakfast on the outdoor range and we brought a bathbomb with us so we could have a bath under the stars. The accommodation was one of the highlights of the trip.
Hokitika itself was very underwhelming; lots of little shops but not really any of use, a very sleepy town, but the activities we did we amazing. We visited the National Kiwi Centre, where we saw many fish, fed and pet some not so hungry eels, and one of my fave parts of the trip, got to see a kiwi up close. I also found a jade carving place for fairly cheap on bookme.co.nz so Leo and I carved our own necklace/keychain out of jade. We both enjoyed it more than we expected too! To top the day off we headed down to the beach with pizza and marshmallows and sat by the fire, watching the sun go down. The only way it could of been any better is if our lotto ticket won us $32million that night ;)
Painwise, I managed the trip fairly well. I did get very exhausted and we had to take some breaks during the day but no pain that some medication couldn't fix.
Since then everything has been going fairly well. I have been managing my pain well with medication and have only had a few days where I've just blobbed out in bed. As the end of the year is nearing also, it means I've been reunited with a lot of my friend so life socially is also going well too. No news on when my surgery will be but still hoping that we will be fit in before christmas!
